Product description

AmeriStrut® is a U.S.-manufactured metal framing and strut channel system produced by Schaeffer Industries. The product line consists of precision roll-formed steel channels designed for use in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and industrial support applications. Standardized channel profiles provide dimensional consistency and compatibility with commonly used fittings and accessories, supporting modular and adjustable installations.

AmeriStrut systems are widely used in commercial and industrial construction, including data centers, where they support cable tray, piping, HVAC systems, equipment supports, and structural frameworks associated with hot aisle and cold aisle containment systems. Products are manufactured in the United States using steel sourced primarily from domestic mills and are available in multiple sizes, thicknesses, and finishes to meet performance and environmental requirements.

Upstream coil may contain up to 50% recycled content.

Interpretation

The impact assessment results indicate that Module A1, raw materials, primarily steel coil, is the largest contributor to all key environmental impact categories for strut channel.

LCIA results are relative expressions and do not predict impacts on category endpoints, the exceeding of thresholds, safety margins or risks. EPDs are comparable only when they follow the same PCR, functional unit and system boundary. The full EPD (PDF) contains the methodology, scenario assumptions and verification statement.
