Product description
This Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) covers Roppe 700 Series Wall Base, a resilient wall base designed for commercial interior applications. Manufactured in Miami, Florida, the 700 Series combines functional protection with a clean, finished appearance at the floor-to-wall transition.
The product is available in both cove (toe) and no-toe profiles, in standard heights of 2½", 4", 4½", and 6". Each profile is supplied in 48-inch lengths or 120-foot coils.
Roppe 700 Series Wall Base is classified under ASTM F1861 as Type TP, Group 2, Styles A & B. It demonstrates excellent flexibility, light stability, and chemical resistance, and meets Class A requirements for flammability and smoke development under ASTM E84, E648, and E662.
The 700 Series contributes to LEED v4 and v4.1 credit categories and holds FloorScore®, NSF/ANSI 332 Level 1, and USDA BioPreferred certifications. It also meets California Section 01350 and CHPS requirements for low-emitting materials and qualifies under American-made procurement criteria.
This EPD includes a table of nominal dimensions and corresponding weights per meter for each profile covered, along with multiplication factors to calculate life cycle impacts for individual product configurations. While LCA results are based on a declared unit of 1 meter of average product, profile-specific results can be derived using these published multipliers. The environmental impact results of products in this document are based on a declared unit and therefore do not provide sufficient information to establish comparisons. The results shall not be used for comparisons without knowledge of how the physical properties of the product impact the precise function at the construction level. The environmental impact results shall be converted to a functional unit basis before any comparison is attempted.
Interpretation
The largest source of impact is raw material extraction (A1), followed by manufacturing (A3) and assembly (A5) for all indicators other than GWPbiogenic. Raw material (A1) impacts come primarily from PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and bio-based plasticizer. Manufacturing (A3) impacts are driven by electricity consumption. Assembly/installation (A5) impacts come from adhesive use. For GWPbiogenic, disposal (C4) is the largest contributor due to the landfilling impacts.
LCIA results are relative expressions and do not predict impacts on category endpoints, the exceeding of thresholds, safety margins or risks. EPDs are comparable only when they follow the same PCR, functional unit and system boundary. The full EPD (PDF) contains the methodology, scenario assumptions and verification statement.
