Product description
Roppe Envire® is a smooth-surfaced, homogeneous vulcanized rubber flooring product manufactured under the Roppe® brand. It is available in both sheet and tile formats for permanent installation in commercial and institutional buildings.
Sheet format: 74-inch by 50-foot rolls (0.100-inch gauge)
Tile format: 24-inch by 24-inch tiles (0.100-inch gauge)
Envire® features a flecked design composed of tonal rubber chips in a wide color palette, offering design flexibility in high-use areas. The product is engineered for durability and dimensional stability under foot traffic and rolling loads.
The product conforms to:
ASTM F1344 – Standard Specification for Rubber Floor Tile (tile format)
ASTM F1859 – Standard Specification for Rubber Sheet Floor Covering Without Backing (sheet format)
These standards establish requirements for performance characteristics such as dimensional stability, flexibility, and chemical resistance.
The mass and density of the product are calculated per square meter of installed flooring in accordance with applicable product category rules.
Interpretation
The results of the LCA indicate that Replacement (B4) is the largest contributor to impacts of each product assessed in this study, across all impact categories. This is due to the fact that 1.88 installations are required within the service lifetime of the building of 75 years. Raw Materials (A1) contribute to the second largest portion of impacts across most indicators. The materials of fossil origin, such as styrene butadiene rubber is the primary driver of impacts within Module A1.
LCIA results are relative expressions and do not predict impacts on category endpoints, the exceeding of thresholds, safety margins or risks. EPDs are comparable only when they follow the same PCR, functional unit and system boundary. The full EPD (PDF) contains the methodology, scenario assumptions and verification statement.
