Product description
Eucofloor 404 is an extremely durable floor topping for use in areas subject to heavy wear, impact, and abrasion such as tipping floors in waste transfer stations. EucoFloor 404 utilizes a combination of high-strength hybrid paste along with a unique blend of natural quartz, calcined, and iron aggregates. The floor may be returned to high wear service as soon as 48 hours of topping placement at 70 °F (21 °C).
Interpretation
The majority of cradle-to-grave impacts for Eucofloor 404 result from the B4 (Replacement) (62%) and C4 (Disposal) (20%) stages of the lifecycle. The B2, B3, and B4 module impacts are based on PCR default scenarios, from NSF PCR for Resinous Floor Coatings, and are not intended to represent product-specific maintenance behavior.
The impact from module B4 is due to the fact that replacements are needed to satisfy the 60-year requirement for the functional unit. This replacement effectively multiplies the impacts from other modules. Of the modules included in B4, A1 Raw Materials Extraction and Processing, B2 Maintenance, and C4 Disposal stages represents the largest contributor to impacts.
LCIA results are relative expressions and do not predict impacts on category endpoints, the exceeding of thresholds, safety margins or risks. EPDs are comparable only when they follow the same PCR, functional unit and system boundary. The full EPD (PDF) contains the methodology, scenario assumptions and verification statement.
