Product description

GacoFlex A4800 is a high-build, fast-cure, acrylic elastomeric roof coating. It offers long roof life, upgraded visual appeal, strong adhesion, high tensile strength, and excellent reflectivity, while reaping the additional advantages of enhanced film build and reduced cure time.

It can be applied as a roof maintenance coating over many existing roof substrates, including single-ply, metal, sprayed-in-place polyurethane foam, and asphalt membranes. GacoFlex A4800 provides early rain resistance in as little as 30 minutes. Additionally, this single-component acrylic coating can be applied at a thickness of up to 80 wet mils (5 gal/SQ) with a single pass using a standard airless sprayer—even on vertical applications.

Application involves cleaning and preparing the roof surface, then applying the coating using rollers, brushes, or sprayers in one or more layers. Once cured, the coating forms a flexible, weather-resistant membrane that adheres tightly to the substrate.

Interpretation

Based on the results and study assumptions, methods, and data, the cradle-to-gate impacts (A1–A3) for the product represent approximately 40% of the total Global Warming Potential (GWP). The remaining impacts occur in later life-cycle stages.

LCIA results are relative expressions and do not predict impacts on category endpoints, the exceeding of thresholds, safety margins or risks. EPDs are comparable only when they follow the same PCR, functional unit and system boundary. The full EPD (PDF) contains the methodology, scenario assumptions and verification statement.
