Product description

In this Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) the resilient rubber floor covering named norament® 825 classic round pastille design with a thickness of 2.7 mm is modeled. This product stands as a representative product of the norament 825/925 product group with different design variations. It is also sold as norament® hammered and norament® xp in North America.

Specific characteristics of the norament® 825/925 coverings are:

manufacturing method: continuously vulcanized , high-pressure pressed in tiles

covering structure: single-layered, homogenous

no addition of PVC, chlorine-containing polymers and phthalate plasticizers

permanently resilient

suitable for high traffic areas

no coating needed

highly fire retardant

no welding required

high resistance against chemicals and surface as well as hand disinfectants according to the VAH and RKI lists

For the placing on the market in the European Union/European Free Trade Association (EU/EFTA) (with the exception of Switzerland) Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 (CPR) applies. The product needs a declaration of performance taking into consideration EN 4041:2018-05, Resilient, textile, laminate and modular multilayer floor coverings - Essential characteristics and the CE-marking.

For the application and use the respective national provisions apply.

Interpretation

The life cycle impacts of nora rubber flooring is driven by the Product Stage (A1-A3) and the impacts from this stage are driven by raw materials. Pigments and synthetic rubber polymers are the major contributors to impacts. Biobased and recycled materials help in reducing the impacts as compared to virgin petrochemical based materials counterparts.

LCIA results are relative expressions and do not predict impacts on category endpoints, the exceeding of thresholds, safety margins or risks. EPDs are comparable only when they follow the same PCR, functional unit and system boundary. The full EPD (PDF) contains the methodology, scenario assumptions and verification statement.
