Product description
Battery powered thermostat with a digital display measuring the room temperature and communicating temperature change to a receiver to control heating and cooling equipment.
Interpretation
The majority of life cycle impacts arise from raw material extraction (A1) and maintenance due to replacement of batteries (B2). Module D indicates potential offsets of life cycle impacts through material and energy substitution.
LCIA results are relative expressions and do not predict impacts on category endpoints, the exceeding of thresholds, safety margins or risks. EPDs are comparable only when they follow the same PCR, functional unit and system boundary. The full EPD (PDF) contains the methodology, scenario assumptions and verification statement.
